Cabbage Stew
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 to 2 pounds lean ground buffalo (ground turkey and chicken also work well)
1 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped finely
2 small cabbages, chopped
5 stalks of celery
4 cans (14.5 ounces each) low sodium diced tomatoes
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons parsley
Add powdered onion, garlic, red pepper flakes and more black pepper to taste
PREPARATION
Chop meat and vegetables to desired thickness. Throw everything into a slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 3 (or until the meat is cooked and cabbage is tender). Be sure to stir every so often. You can also cook it all on the stove, but it's nice to be able to throw it all in a slow cooker and forget it.
For those doing Kenzai Body, cook the meat separately in a sauce pan with some of the juice from the canned tomatoes, powdered onion, garlic, and more black pepper to taste. Then you can weigh everything and combine.
