Spicy Italian Chicken Sausage

This classic spicy chicken sausage is so versatile. It can be used in tacos, on sandwiches, pasta sauces, and more. It also goes great with roasted eggplant and cauliflower. For those not currently on a training program, you can add a pinch of salt, but the spices should provide more than enough flavor.

Spicy Italian Chicken Sausage

INGREDIENTS

1 lb ground chicken
1/2 tablespoon fennel seeds
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 1/4 teaspoon cayenne (less if you don’t want it too spicy)
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 teaspoons garlic powder

PREPARATION

Brown the ground chicken in a large pan. You don’t need any oil. When it’s fully cooked, drain any fat. Add all the spices and 1/2 a cup of water to the chicken. Keep the heat on low, stir until the spices are well dispersed and until the water is cooked off.
